While walking in Kapitolyo, Pasig
after attending the Mass, me and my friends got hungry. We were overwhelmed by
the restaurants in the place we cannot decide where to go. Then we saw this
small restaurant which looks cozy so we stepped in and the aroma of the chicken
made me hungrier.
Gostoso is the restaurant in
Kapitolyo, Pasig that offers Chicken Piri-Piri. Their dish is Portuguese which
is less popularly kno
Of course, our main dish is their
Chicken Piri-Piri. I’m a chicken lover so I’m very meticulous when it comes to
chicken. Their serving is quite generous and the chicken which is good for two
persons can be shared up to three persons if you don’t have a large appetite. The
chicken is so tender that you can easily pull the meat. You’ll love it more
once you get a taste of the chicken. It was so delicious and it was not dry.
Gostoso offers two sauces to
perfectly match their chicken. The first sauce is called Mild Piri-Piri which
is a bright red tomato sauce that is not spicy. The name of the other sauce
came from its creator, Chef Joao, is called Joao’s Piri-Piri and is filled with
chili seeds. Joao’s Piri-Piri spicy sauce has been toned down unlike those in
Portugal but it has just the right kick to put you all red. You may mix the two
sauces to get your right amount of spice.
Aside from the chicken, we also
ordered their Coxinha which are breaded balls with cream, chicken strips and
bell pepper in the inside. Another thing, you’ll love is their olive rice which
is also very flavorful. Unfortunately, I have to watch my sugar level so I just
only ate half of my rice serving.
Well, our trip to Kapitolyo, Pasig was again very
worthwhile aside from fulfilling our Christian obligation it has again filled
our tummies.
