Drinks at St. Patrick Kapitolyo

Kapitolyo, Pasig is now popular with the houses converted into a restaurant. It has become a busy street especially during lunch and dinner. You can see people lined up in each restaurant. Aside from being a haven for delicious food, Kapitolyo is now also a place where you can have some nice drink which is different from the noisy and crowded places.

For people who prefer to just have nice time to catch up with each other, the bars in Kapitolyo are the perfect place to be. Silantro is a common place where you can see people holding and drinking their beers while waiting to be seated. They also serve great foods. Juanito's is also popular hang-out place and is a favorite because they have videoke. Tipsy Pig that is located at Capitol Commons is a new addition to Kapitolyo's list of restaurants and bar.

For our visit at Kapitolyo that night we decided to go to St. Patrick. The place was full with people when we arrived. Their bar area and two tables were already reserved. Luckily, there's still a table available but I think it was not the best spot because it was near the stairs going to the second floor and lighting was poor that we cannot get a good picture.

My friend preferred St. Patrick because they offer wine and other foreign drinks. They offer cocktails which costs P180.00. They have rum, tequila, vodka, gin and whiskey. You can buy a bottle or just a shot of these liquor.

Aside from liquor drinks, St. Patrick also offers some food however their menu is limited so its better to have some dinner on nearby restaurants before having a drink here. For the food, they have buffalo wings which has different flavors. The wings can be tangy, smoky or done the classic way or you may want it sweet and spicy. They only have three rice meal, three kinds of sandwiches and four special hotdogs. Their menu also include some steak.

Since we had dinner at a nearby restaurant, we only ordered drinks at St. Patrick. We had a beer, a wine and a cocktail. My friend ordered a glass of red wine and another friend had Hoegaarden for his beer. As for me I had a daquiri.

I liked the daquiri at St. Patrick. It is unlike the other daquiri that I had where they usually added some fruit flavor like mango and strawberry. Their daquiri was just simple. The basic daquiri with a garnished of lime. The rum was mixed well with the sweetener and lime.

It was a great night. We were able to catch-up with each other lives and had a good drink. St. Patrick deserves another visit. I just hoped next time we can sit on the bar and have a better seat.

The House of Vietnamese Food in Kapitolyo

It was as usual past dinner time and still we have not ate anything. Me and my friends decided to go out for a dinner that night however we arrived at our meeting place past the agreed time. We all agreed to have our dinner at Rubs in Kapitolyo, Pasig. We walked the famous street of Kapitolyo to get there. It was fun passing and checking each restaurant and food establishments.

Our joyful chatting came to a stop when we saw the long line of people waiting at Rubs. We then continue our walk going to Silantro, and the situation was just the same. We then try to recollect the restaurants we passed by to remember if there's any place which not full. Three Sisters also have a long line. Charlie's has some seats but we want to eat some rice so it was taken out of the option. Then we saw Ba Noi's with only few cars parked outside. I've been to Ba Noi's once and I've liked their food. We all agreed to have our dinner at Ba Noi's.

We were surprised when we enter the place. It seems like all the people inside having their dinner stopped and looked at us when we opened the door. We were immediately seated by the waitress on a table near the counter. I prefer dining at their second floor but it was already full.

On my previous visit to Ba Noi's we had their spring rolls and I loved the taste of it. I want my friend to have a taste of it so I ordered a serving of their spring rolls. Iliked their fried spring roll which is called Cha Gio. Inside the crispy roll is ground pork, shrimp, taro and black fungus. I usually wrap the spring roll on lettuce and then dip it to their Nuoc Mam sauce.

We also ordered their Suon Nong Xa which is pork riblets flavored with their special lemongrass fusion served with soy-chili sauce. This one is so tasty and my friend really loved it.

To top it we ordered their Vietnamese Rice. The rice was so delicious that I can eat it even without the pork and spring rolls. I ate my whole serving of rice and finished it all up.

We weren't able to try their coffee but definitely on our next visit Its something that we will have. Our dinner at Ba Noi's was just the beginning of a long night of catching up with each other. We headed to a bar also in Kapitolyo after our dinner.

Eat it All Out at Vikings

Buffet restaurants are staring to fill the Metro and it seems that people are patronizing it. Just recently, Vikings Buffet has opened in SM Megamall. I’m not a fan of buffet because I have small appetite however I would not say that I’m innocent of it either. Since, Vikings has opened in SM Megamall, of course, my friends would want to try it. They even used my graduation as a reason to eat there. Viking has offered a promo for the graduates. The graduate is free of charge as long as he or she has three paying companion. The graduate needs to present a graduation invitation and his or her school ID to avail of the promo. And since I’ve just graduated we were able to get the promo.

We have made the reservation a week in advance. Few days before that date they kept reminding me to bring the requirements for the promo. There were only few people when we arrived at Vikings. I think that maybe because it was only 11AM. Just what I thought, people started to arrive when it was almost 12PM.

The first buffet table when you enter is their dessert area. We were amazed on the wide selection of cakes and frozen sweets. The appetizer area is on the side of the dessert area. For the appetizer, they had variations of salads. Near the salads is their nachos and tacos area which is my ultimate favourite.

Vikings also have different kind of breads which were located at the back side. This is also the area where you can make your own pizza and pasta.

After the appetizer, we went to the right side where some Filipino, Japanese and Mediterranean cuisine is located.

The grilling station is also located at the right side. Most of the foods for grilling are seafoods. They also have some pork and sirloin steak.

On the left side is the steak area where you can also have your lechon. It is also the area for Chinese food.

I’m a big fan of sweets which I think is very obvious. Their dessert area has different cakes. They also have mini doughnuts and cronuts. Of course, there is the chocolate fountain, the halo-halo station, sweet rice cakes, ice cream station and an area where you can request for crepes. As you can see I have truly enjoyed their desserts.

After almost two hours we were done and very full. I can say that I liked the buffet because of the sweets

More than 8 Cuts

My friend was very persistent that we try to eat at 8 Cuts Burger. He said that since 8 Cuts Burger has opened in SM Megamall we should try. it. I jokingly answered that "yes, we should try 8 Cuts Burger at UP Town Center". He frowned at me becasue he lives in ParaƱaque and Diliman, Quezon City os too far from his place.

After some weeks of talking about 8 Cuts Burger we finally went to SM Megamall to try it. One of our friend said that there's nothing special about it or because she is not a burger fan. Nonetheless, we are so much decided to have a try of this burger than has been creating a buzz.

The place wasn't that full when we arrived unlike the first few days when it opened that you have to fall in line. We checked their menu and of course they have different kind of burgers. From the most ordinary to their best seller.

We ordered something we can all share. Since I'm a Nacho lover I ordered their Loaded Tex-Mex Ground Beef Nachos. It was overflowing with ground beef, avocados, tomatoes and cheese.

Two of my friends played safe and ordered the regular burger and cheeseburger. For the rest of us we wanted something different. A friend ordered the Q-Daddy. It is a quarter-pounder OX Blend patty of flank, oxtail and rib eye. It is topped with yellow cheddar, onion tanglers, bacon strips, lettuce, tomato, jalapeno and ranch and sweetly spices BBQ sauce. With all that in it, you just know that this burger is really something.

Another friend ordered the Piggy. If you are a bacon lover this one is a must-try. The burger has a quarter-pounder Beef Bomb Blend patty of the chuck and short rib with mozzarella. The fried bacon strips are on top of the patty. It also has house-made bacon jam, lollo rossa, tomatoes and garlic aioli.

For me, I had the Four-Cheese. I commonly hear four-cheese for pizza so four-cheese for a burger is something I want to try. Aside from the quarter-ponder Beef Bomb Blend patty of chuck and short rib eye it has parmesan, yellow cheddar, aged gruyere and mozarella.

We were so full and satisfied of what we ate. It was a mission accomplished. for us!
