Great Breakfast at Binulo Restaurant

Food trip is something common when you are in Pampanga. Famous for being great cooks, Pampanga is also well known for their exotic dishes. However, I don’t think I have the courage to be adventurous to taste their exotic dishes. You don’t have to eat insects or the genitals of an animal just to appreciate the cuisine of the Pampangeños. A simple breakfast in Binulo Restaurant has captured my love for Pampanga’s food.

I’ve first read about Binulo Restaurant while looking for a place to eat near Clark. I’ve read in an article in “Byahe ni Drew” about the restaurant. It is considered as a must to eat in Binulo when you are in Pampanga. Other blog also mentioned the place as part of their top restaurants to visit in Pampanga.

Even though I’ve did some research about the restaurant I never expect that it is that accessible in Clark. That morning, me and my sister were torn between eating in Binulo or in Crazy Pete Diner. Both of them offer a buffet breakfast with almost the same price. When we checked Binulo we saw that the tables outside are already full with people so we decided to head at Crazy Pete Diner which has fewer people. I was already hungry so when I entered the diner I immediately checked their menu. To my dismay they don’t have any breakfast in their menu. We asked one waiter about their breakfast meal since they have tarpaulin outside about their buffet breakfast. The waiter told us that their breakfast menu was no longer available and it was only 7AM that time. The waiter apologized and even suggests that we go to Binulo restaurant. Hurriedly, me and my sister went to Binulo.

All the tables have customer though they have not occupied the whole seats. A lady approached us and asked us how she can assist us. We asked for a table however she said that there is no available table but we can share with other customers. Luckily, two guys sitting on a round table that is good for eight persons left.

While I was getting my food at the buffet table, a long table was vacated so I asked my sister to transfer to that table which is much nearer to the buffet table. For breakfast, Binulo offered rice, longganisa, tocino, scrambled egg, danggit, ham and sausage.

The danggit always run out so it’s easy to guess that the customers love it. It is very crispy that you can easily chew it. There is also chicken dish which I think is Caldereta but I didn’t tried it.

My personal favorite is the longganisa. At first, I don’t like it because it’s burnt appearance however when I sliced a portion of it, the meat inside has the perfect red color. The taste of the longganisa was just perfect. I don’t even need to dip it into the vinegar.

Pandesal is something that would not be forgotten in any Filipino breakfast. Aside from pandesal, there is also puto which reminds me of my childhood days. The puto was really good.

Their delicious food is complimented by overflowing freshly brewed coffee.

Every now and then there is a waiter to replenish the food in the buffet table. The waiters are also very fast in cleaning the table and attending to the customers’ needs.

Binulo restaurant is located inside Clark, Pampanga. Surely it is a place to dine while you are in Pampanga.
