The Run for Manila Bay Never Stop

The Manila Bay is considered as one of the best harbour in the world. Unfortunately because on industrialization, pollution and some human activities the water in Manila Bay has deteriorated its quality. Garbage and industrial waste has now become a natural component of its water.

The Manila Bay Clean-Up Run is a project of the Manila Broadcsating Company (MBC) to protect and restore the beauty of Manila Bay. It's the third year of MBC in organizing this run to raise fund in cleaning-up the Manila Bay. DJs from Love Radio are the hosts of the event. After the race there will be a mini concert featuring Luke Mijares and Pretty Young Thing.

Over 4,500 runners have signed up on this year run. The start of the race was at the Aliw Theater. There are four race category, 21k, 10K, 5K and 3K. The gun start for the 21K was at 5AM and then the race category will follow.

The runners ran along Roxas Boulevard with a captivating sight of the Manila Bay before sunrise. The reflection of the lights of the establishments along Manila Bay are glowing in the water. However, as the sun starts to rise, the peddlers and peasants living along the bay are becoming more visible. There are some who are sleeping and some are having their breakfast.

The Manila Bay Clean-Up Run will never stop if people will continually contaminate and destroy Manila Bay. It will be better if we can stop people and factories from polluting the water. The run should not be only on cleaning but more on educating people on the importance of having clean water. It should also find ways on how to stop people and other industrial companies in destroying the Manila Bay.

The run was fun and was organized except for the releasing of bags at the baggage counter which was totally messed up. The event has a photo booth, lots of drinking station and a water sprinkler at the finish line. The DJs were also funny making the event very lively.
