Going Down in Timubo Cave

There are a some caves located in Camotes Island however due to time constraint we were only able to visit one cave which is Timubo Cave.

Unlike other cave, the entrance of the cave is not visible. Its entrance is not like an opening from a mountain. Timubo Cave is located in a farm. Since it is still considered as summer, the grass and the few trees near the cave entrance are all dried up.

The steps on the entrance of the cave are bit slippery but there are handrails that can help the tourists. The cave is also well-lighted so it is not that dark when you are inside however precaution is still necessary.

At the heart of the cave is the clear cold blue water. It is a wonder on how the water reaches the cave since it’s a bit far from the sea. It is approximately five to six feet deep but there are some elevated areas where the water is chest deep.

Since the cave is just small it is advisable that only few people are inside the cave. I think the locals guarding the cave also do not allow too many people to enter inside. Bringing of foods is not allowed inside. Smoking is also strictly prohibited.

We stayed for a while since my friend is enjoying the cold water. When we ascend the cave, there are already two groups preparing to enter the cave. 

We left the cave feeling refreshed and excited for our next destination.

Mangodlong Rock Beach Resort

There are only few resorts in Camotes Island and Mangodlong Rock Beach Resort is one of them. We were looking and comparing two resorts in the island – Mangodlong Rock Beach Resort and Santiago Bay Resort – we chose Mangodlong Rock Beach because we found a tour package inclusive of the resort’s overnight accommodation.

Mangodlong Rock Beach is a private resort which we learned is a sister resort of Santiago Bay Resort. We saw the receptionist wearing a shirt that has the logo of Santiago Bay Resort and it was also confirmed by the girl who assists us when we arrived. 

The resort was just small and there were only few guests staying in the resort. Most commonly they have guests or visitors who just drop-by for a day trip on the resort and would only stay for a few hours. Most of the visitors would jump on the rock formations on the resort.

Food is not a problem because you can order your food on the resort. They have kitchen that is already open at 6AM. Food is good for sharing except for their breakfast meals. They also have desserts and fruit shakes.

Since there were only few guests we were able to fully enjoy the resort. We stayed on the resort that afternoon just waddling on the cool water. After maybe more than an hour we decided to get out of the water and watched the beautiful sunset.

Morning view is also spectacular in Camotes. I woke early morning just to capture this scene. I felt relaxed while listening on the sound of the waves and the singing of the birds.

The staffs of the resort are very nice. They let us stay on the resort after we checked-out while waiting for our ride going to the port.

We definitely liked our stay in Mangodlong Rock Beach Resort!
