A Different Brew of Milk Tea

I'm not a big fan of milk tea. I definitely prefer coffee than having milk teas. For me, milk teas are just fad.
After some time the on going craze for milk tea will fade. I have tried Gong-cha, Serenitea and other milk tea brands and for me it seems that they are all just the same. There's nothing special in it. There's even a milk tea brand that taste like a grass.

Until one time, I've tried this milk tea located in the Greenfield District which is just across Shangri-la mall. We had a late dinner and decided to hang-out and have milk tea. I have a friend who is a fanatic of milk tea and have tried different kinds of milk tea. She convinced us to have milk tea that night. She saw Y Tree Milk Tea and she suggested that we should try it.

The place is easy to see because of its vivid green color. Its a perfect place to hang-out because aside from that they have enough space, they also have free wi-fi. I often saw students on this place with their laptops. It seems that it has become an alternative from the usual coffee house.

We decided to try their Y Tree Signature Rock Salt and Cheese. We have never tried a milk tea with salt and cheese before. Their Signature Rock Salt and Cheese is available for Y Tree Milk Wintermelon Tea, Y Tree Milk Chocolate and Y Tree Milk Green Tea. I had Y Tree Milk Chocolate Tea and so far its the best milk chocolate tea that I've tried. The salt neutralizes the sweet taste of the tea. You can also feel on your taste buds the creaminess of the tea. My other friends ordered Y Tree Milk Wintermelon and they also loved it.

A must try also is their Chocolate Peppermint Milk Tea which is only for a limited offer. Its taste like a peppermint chocolate only this time you are drinking it instead of eating it.

Aside from their signature Rock Salt and Cheese, they also have teas with Special Cream. You also can choose from the different variety of milk tea for their  Y Tree Special Cream. They also have a creative mix of milk teas. Of course, Y Tree Milk Tea also offer the usual milk tea.

Y Tree Milk Tea also have pastries and pastas on their menu. We were able to try their Chocolate Moist Cake. The cake was sweet and you will definitely like it if you are a fan of moist cake.

Unfortunately, Y Tree Milk Tea has only one branch which is at Greenfield District. However, you may call 212-1212 for delivery.

At the House of Katsu

Overwhelmed! I was really overwhelmed when they served my Menchi Katsu. I know the Katsu they serve are at a large serving but I never imagined that it will be that big. Or maybe I really have a small appetite that is why I was really surprised when I saw their Katsu.

My friend invited us to try eating at Yabu. The restaurant which is famous for Katsu. My friend had already tried their Katsu and he highly recommended it to us. So one Friday night, we went to nearest Yabu restaurant from our office.

When we reached the place, there are people waiting in line to be seated. Yabu has really made a buzz. It became a craze that almost everyone want to taste their Katsu. We have to wait only about fifteen minutes and we were seated. Our orders are immediately taken. We amused ourselves in preparing the sauce for the Katsu while we are waiting for our meals to be served. As we grind the black and white sesame seeds its aroma fills the air. This make us even more hungrier and excited for our dinner. Once the sesame seeds are grind, we put two scoops of the Tonkatsu sauce.

Only a few minutes our dinner were served. The meal usually have a bowl of rice, Japanese pickles, cabbages, miso soup, fruits and of course your choice of Katsu. One of my friend ordered their mixed Seafood Katsu which has black tiger prawns, scallop, cream dory, oyster and squid. Two of my friend had Rosu Katsu. For me, I ordered their Menchi Katsu which is a combination of minced beef and pork with cheese in the middle.

On my next visit, I will try their Katsu Curry Set. Just like the other Katsu meal it is also served with unlimited rice and cabbage, fruits and miso soup. The difference is that it has Curry sauce which is popular in Japan in the Meiji era. You can request to have the curry in separate bowl because they usually served it with the Katsu. You can also choose if you want the Curry to be a bit spicy and hot.

The price of their meal ranges from P300.00 to P600.00. Yabu can be found in SM Megamall, Robinsons Magnolia and SM Mall of Asia.
